A South Downs Way adventure

April 6th, 2018

Is your class ready for an adventure in their National Park? The South Downs Way National Trail covers 160km of stunning scenery, from the ancient cathedral city of Winchester to the white chalky cliffs of the Seven Sisters and Beachy Head. A perfect place for Outdoor Classroom Day, sign up to the movement.

Use our guide to plan your walk or cycle on the South Downs Way. It breaks the trail into chunks, some very manageable (3 miles) and some more challenging (8 and a half miles).

Find out about the special habitats you’ll be walking through by visiting our habitat pages on the Learning Zone. We would also be happy to come into school before your visit to teach your class about the habitats with hands on activities and games. Email us at learning@southdowns.gov.uk for more information.

There are also several other long distance routes into, out of and around the National Park. Check out the Discovery Map for more information.
